Petit Jean

We had a great time at Petit Jean. It's such a beautiful place. We have more pictures that I haven't uploaded yet from my camera, but here a couple that a friend took. The hike down to the falls and back was much longer and steeper than I remember as a kid, but it is still just as beautiful. We did 2 hikes while we were there. One to the Falls and the other to Bear Cave. We took Mollie with us to the falls and she did pretty good. We don't normally leash our dogs, so it took some getting used to, but she made it down and back with out too much of a fight. The 2nd day we hiked to Bear Cave after we packed up our campsite. We took both dogs with us for this hike. Mollie did NOT want to go. I (and everyone else with us) thought she was just being stubborn. With a little bit of force she finally decided to walk the trail. Anyway...they both did pretty good on this trail as well. Lollie was tired most of the way back and ended up hitching a ride with Dain. At the very very end of the trail Mollie started limping. Well...when we got home we realized that she had blisters on her paws between her pads on all 4 feet and the harness had rubbed her skin red on her chest. Poor dog! I felt HORRIBLE! She is much better now and has completely healed with no problems. The reason we all thought she was being stubborn and didn't even consider that she was hurt was that she never once whimpered, barked, cried, limped (until the very very end), nothing! She didn't act like anything was wrong at all. Anyway...we had a GREAT weekend with some dear church friends. The weather was absolutely perfect and the food was delicious!!! We're looking forward to next time! This past weekend we took a trip to Branson with my parents and Dain's parents. It was a great trip as well. I'll post on that later.
