Updates....Thanksgiving, Black Friday & Floors (Pic added)

Wow....it's been almost a month since I've updated the blog. Time has flown by! Not much has changed. Still working, sleeping, going to church and working some more. WOW! Our life can be so predictable! HA!

The church recently hired a new youth minister and Dain and I have been helping where we can with him and the teens. We are really enjoying getting involved with them!! Kevin and Kim are soo much fun too. I think we have made life long friends with them already. They are wonderful people and so genuine!

We had Thanksgiving with my family Wednesday evening and then spent Thanksgiving Day with Dain's extended family. It's always good to see everybody. We ate too much food, but it was all SOOO good!! We love holiday food and desserts!! I did try and watch my portions and I think I did a good job of it.

Dain and I have never gotten up early and gone shopping on Black Friday. I am not a shopper...I want to know what I am going after...get it and get out. I can't stand crowds...especially crazy impatient ones. Anyway, this year we decided that we were going to brave the madness! We went to Target and Home Depot. We got in line at Target at 5:15AM and stood there in the freezing cold for 45 minutes waiting for them to open the doors for the 6am opening. Did I mention that it was freezing cold?! We had our list of the 3 things we wanted. My mission was to go straight to electronics and stand in line for a camera and Dain was going to get a stand mixer and a new phone for the house. So I got in line and waited and waited and waited some more. Finally at about 6:50 I got to the front of the line. We ended up buying some batteries, a flash drive and a memory card too. By 7am we had checked everything out in electronics and were in the car. We then went to Home Depot and were in and out of the store in 5 minutes flat! We went and grabbed some breakfast and were home by 7:30! Target was CRAZY~~~ I think everybody including their aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, parents, dogs & cats were there! You know what I mean....there were A LOT of people there~ Did I mention that it was CRAZY?! Anyway...I think I have the black friday shopping out of my system for a few years!!!



We also have been working on the floors in our living room. I hated our carpet. It always bothered me. I could have the whole house sparkling clean and still be grossed out by our living room carpet. We redid our entry way about a year ago and found the same floors on sale a week ago. We decided that redoing the floor in the living room would be both of our birthday and Christmas presents. Dain and my Dad layed the wood floor while I was at work Friday and then they worked on the tile around the fireplace Saturday. Dain and I finished grouting the tile last night. It looks GREAT!! Here is a picture of it...the tile in front of the fire place isn't done in this picture, but you get the idea.
