Not my calling in life……but I helped our friend Brandy with her Dog last night. She is a teacup yorkie and gave birth to 4 puppies last night. Tinkerbell was only 3lbs herself before she got pregnant and the Vet had to do 3 ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy to make sure she was going to be able to carry them and deliver them safely. Only 2 puppies made it and they are tiny, adorable and just perfect! They are probably about 4 ounces each. It was an interesting night with a emergency trip to the vet when the first one got stuck and she/we couldn't get it out…..After a 30 minute drive to the vets office it came out on it's own as soon as we walked in the door…figures! They checked her out to make sure her and the puppy were both ok, but told us that if we didn't want to stay we didn't have to. They didn't charge her either…thank goodness! So we went back to the house with Tink and her puppy to wait out the rest of the deliveries. The 2nd puppy was born before we even made it back home! It was a pretty cool thing to experience, but I don’t think I want to do it again!! Here is a pic of the puppies...they are laying in my hand.
