Small update - Praise report

I went in last week and did my glucose test which tests for Gestational Diabetes. I found out Friday late afternoon that I failed that test, so they wanted me to come back for a 3 hour glucose test which is much more accurate. I did this on Tuesday. Lots of sitting, waiting, reading, waiting, watching tv, waiting....a little worrying, but not too much (The Lord IS in control!)....

Praise the Lord...I passed! The nurse's exact words were I passed the 3 hour test "with flying colors!"

Everything still seems to be going great with this pregnancy!! Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

16 weeks!!!!!!!

I had my 16 week appt today. Things are still going great! I got to hear the heartbeat again (which is way too amazing) and the doc said he could hear the baby moving around with his doppler. =) Hopefully I'll start feeling it very soon...can't wait! I'll be 17 weeks along tomorrow.

I go back on February 25th for the big ultrasound and my 20 week appt. Please pray that everything goes well. We're excited to find out what we are having, but also know the main reason for the appt is to make sure everything is good with the baby's organs, etc. It's hard to believe we are getting close to the half way mark!

I am also feeling 5,000 times better. I didn't think I would ever get over being sick...2 months was way too long!

We love you guys and are so thankful for you and your prayers. It really means more than you know!!

I couldn't believe my eyes!!!

It says I'm PREGNANT!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!!!!

Here is the first picture of our blob (I mean baby)! We got to see and hear the heart beat today.. Very exciting!!!! My due date is July 9th.

I've learned HUGE life lessons through all of our pregnancy struggles over the past 5 1/2 years...

GOD IS in COMPLETE control!! I struggled with relinquishing that control for a long time.
HE is more than able to handle anything that comes my way!!! Do you really believe that? I said it and sang it, but I don't know that I truly understood it.
He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!! (Ephesians 3:20) It was right there in the bible. How did I not believe that he would take care of us. He is doing immeasurably more for us now!!!!

Please pray for us as we go through this journey. We are excited but scared. We know that God IS doing immeasurably more than we can imagine!

Race for the Cure 2008

This morning was the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. I'm so glad that we went. It's always such a great experience for a wonderful cause. We got to meet Mary Katherine this morning as well. We were some of her pray warriors as she battled against breast cancer and beat it this year!!! PRAISE GOD!!! Here are some pictures..

Petit Jean

We had a great time at Petit Jean. It's such a beautiful place. We have more pictures that I haven't uploaded yet from my camera, but here a couple that a friend took. The hike down to the falls and back was much longer and steeper than I remember as a kid, but it is still just as beautiful. We did 2 hikes while we were there. One to the Falls and the other to Bear Cave. We took Mollie with us to the falls and she did pretty good. We don't normally leash our dogs, so it took some getting used to, but she made it down and back with out too much of a fight. The 2nd day we hiked to Bear Cave after we packed up our campsite. We took both dogs with us for this hike. Mollie did NOT want to go. I (and everyone else with us) thought she was just being stubborn. With a little bit of force she finally decided to walk the trail. Anyway...they both did pretty good on this trail as well. Lollie was tired most of the way back and ended up hitching a ride with Dain. At the very very end of the trail Mollie started limping. Well...when we got home we realized that she had blisters on her paws between her pads on all 4 feet and the harness had rubbed her skin red on her chest. Poor dog! I felt HORRIBLE! She is much better now and has completely healed with no problems. The reason we all thought she was being stubborn and didn't even consider that she was hurt was that she never once whimpered, barked, cried, limped (until the very very end), nothing! She didn't act like anything was wrong at all. Anyway...we had a GREAT weekend with some dear church friends. The weather was absolutely perfect and the food was delicious!!! We're looking forward to next time! This past weekend we took a trip to Branson with my parents and Dain's parents. It was a great trip as well. I'll post on that later.

It's been a while

Things have been crazy! I have felt like I'm chasing myself coming lately!!! We are getting away this weekend with some friends from church. We're leaving after work on Friday to go camping at Petit Jean State Park.

This is one of the places my family and I went when I was a kid the most (and probably where I got hurt the most...dang bicycles!). Dain and I are really looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll take a hike down to the falls. It's such a beautiful mountain! I'll post an update with pics when we get back.

I also want to say that I have really felt loved lately. We are really blessed with some great friends! Love you guys and thanks for always praying for us!
